• Financial data: Ledger files, Statement of Account (SOA) data, invoice records, payment data, and reconciliation reports that you upload or generate on our platform.
• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, time spent, clicks, and interactions within the platform.
• Device and technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.
• Communication data: Emails, messages, and support requests you send to us.
• Cookies and tracking: Session cookies, preference cookies, and analytics tracking (see Section 7).

We use your information to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the ReconX platform and its features.

4. Financial Data — Special Handling

ReconX processes sensitive financial data on your behalf. We treat this data with the highest level of care:

• All financial data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
• All data in transit is protected using TLS 1.2 or higher.
• Financial data is used solely to provide the reconciliation service to you — never for advertising or sold to third parties.
• Access to your financial data is restricted to authorised team members and RSC operators only when you have selected a managed service plan.
• You retain full ownership of all financial data you upload to our platform.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Third-party vendors who help us operate the platform (e.g., cloud hosting, email delivery) under strict data processing agreements.
• RSC operations team: If you have selected a managed or full-outsourcing service plan, authorised RSC reconciliation professionals will access your data to perform the contracted work.
• Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or regulatory authority in India.
• Business transfer: If ReconX or RSC is acquired or merged, your data may transfer to the new entity under equivalent privacy protections.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specifically:

• Account data is retained for the duration of your subscription plus 90 days after cancellation.
• Financial and reconciliation data is retained for 7 years to comply with Indian accounting and audit requirements under the Companies Act.
• You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us at privacy@recon-x.in. Statutory retention obligations may prevent immediate deletion of certain records.

7. Cookies

ReconX uses cookies to operate the platform. The types of cookies we use:

• Essential cookies: Required for login sessions, security, and basic platform functionality. Cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies: Used to understand how the platform is used (e.g., Google Analytics). Can be declined via your browser settings.
